Day Nineteen!

I spent most of the day reading the manual for my camera. With every new thing I learned I had to try it out, right! I drove my poor kids crazy...

This is a picture of Jessica trying to eat lunch. She'd finally had enough and and snapped at me, "Quit taking my picture!" I managed to get her showing some real attitude. Now, some of you may not believe it, but this is the real Jessica. All attitude, all the time! Honestly!

This picture was edited to black and white, and then tinted with a little bit of color. I thought it was sorta neat.

Day Eighteen!!

Today I took my camera off of the Auto Mode. I took tons of pictures, most of which suck, but after fiddling with the settings I did get some good ones. Here's my favorite!

Day Seventeen!

I love this warm weather!! Everything is starting to bloom and it's so beautiful! Spring is my favorite season. I love how everything is new. It's so easy to be happy.

Day Sixteen!

I'm not sure what these little flowers are, but they're beautiful! This is the closeup.

Day Fifteen!

Ok, I confess, I didn't actually take this picture today. I took it over the weekend. But, I just love it, so I'm posting it anyway. Emma loves "flying"!! When you hold her up in the air she kicks her feet like she trying to swim.

Day Fourteen!

I got this picture tonight after supper. Brayden was so sleepy, and I didn't want him to get jealous of Chris holding Emma, so I asked him to hold her instead. He was proud to do that!

Day Twelve! ~~Easter!~~

The kids were so cute when they got out of bed! I thought Jessica would notice the Easter baskets as soon as she woke up, but she walked right by them over and over! As soon as Brayden sat up he saw his. He didn't really care about the basket though, just the car in it. Brayden got a car, Jessica got Mariposa Barbie, and Emma got her first Bible. As fun as Easter is with the bunnies and eggs, it's important to us that our kids know the real meaning behind it. All of our kids have gotten their first Bible for their first Easter.

Day Eleven!

I'm trying to get caught up on my posting! The holiday weekend has thrown me off. Saturday was a long, long day for us, and I took way too many pictures to post only one. Chris and I got up early and waited in line for 2.5 hours to register Jessica for Pre-K. They only let the first 140 kids in, so even though they didn't start until 9:00 a.m., we were there at 6:30 a.m. to hold our spot. I sat out on the sidewalk wrapped in a quilt, with tons of other crazy parents, while Chris sat in the car with Emma to keep her warm. All I kept thinking as I watched the line grow longer and longer was that I couldn't believe I hadn't brought my camera!

When we got home we immediately piled all the kids in the car and drove the 2.5 hours to Hartwell to have Easter with my family. When we got there we had an egg hunt, which the kids loved! We started this tradition before Jessica was even born, and we've made sure to do it every year since. Luckily this year we had beautiful weather for it!

Brayden needed a little help to get started. He picked up a few eggs, and then he was done. He left his bag laying on the ground and went to find Kristen's bike. Boys!

Jessica followed Kristen everywhere she went! They both had tons of eggs!

Desiree's basket was overloaded!

Kristen found the prize egg! Two whole dollars!

After the egg hunt we dyed Easter eggs. I know, I know, we did it in the wrong order. But we didn't want the real eggs outside for the egg hunt because it was so warm out. They had a blast dying the eggs.

Jessica dyed every single egg she had yellow. Every one!

They had such a mess...

After that we went out to eat Mexican. My favorite! When we finished we decided that instead of going back to my grandmother's house we were going on to the hotel and getting the kids in bed. It had just been a long day. Plus, we had to get ready for the Easter Bunny!

Day Ten!

I took this picture on Friday.

After working long hours all week long, Chris usually gets home from work early on Fridays. Now that the time has changed and the weather is getting a bit warmer we can actually go outside and play. I snapped this picture of him holding Emma sitting in the swing.

Day Nine!

I had hoped to post pictures from the Easter play that my father was in, but unfortunately my children behaved horribly like the 2 and 4 year old that they are, and I never even took the camera out of it's bag. When we got home I told Jessica I needed to take her picture. She promptly went running. I snapped a few anyway, and was able to actually get a "real" smile. You know, not that "cheesy" smile!! Please excuse the war wound on her lip. That's what you get when your little brother gets tired of you picking on him.

Day Eight!

My father has been growing a beard for several weeks now preparing for an Easter program at church. He's Simon in a Last Supper play. Emma just loves it!! When he's holding her she plays with his beard, and it's so cute. I got a picture today because the play is tomorrow, and I know as soon as it's over he's shaving it off!

Day Seven!

Emma had her first peas today. She LOVED them!! She just squealed with delight every time the spoon came towards her. She is definately enjoying trying all these new foods.

Day Six!

Daddy was holding Emma and she reached up and grabbed his ear. It was so cute, and of course, I grabbed the camera. This picture is pretty much straight out of the camera, other than a little cropping and blurring the edges.

Day Five!

It's amazing how you take for granted the things around you. The things you see every day. I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. There are some seriously gorgeous views right out my window. I didn't know what I was going to take a picture of today, and not really feeling too creative. I decided to take a walk outside and snapped several pictures of the trees and things like that. When I was on my way back to the house (actually, my parents' house) I looked up and saw the beautiful mountains on the horizon. Something I see every day, but never really notice anymore. It reminded me why we moved here in the first place, and it really brightened my day. This picture is taken walking down my driveway towards my parents' house. Where the gravel just sorta stops, that's a steep hill going straight down. Where it veers off to the right goes to my parents' house.

Day Four!

Well, today's photo is sorta strange. My sister came over today, and her and I spent the day tie dying. I always have so much fun! All together we did 11 shirts! We weren't able to open them yet so I got a pic of the pile of tied shirts. Colors!!

Day Three

Ok, so I actually took these pictures yesterday, but since I'd already posted I thought I'd post these today. I couldn't decide which was best, so I posted both.

I was sitting at the kitchen table eating supper, and when I looked out the window I saw the most beautiful purple sky. I scrambled for the camera because sunsets don't last long! I was thrilled when I got several great pictures.

Day Two!

I spent the day at the hospital today. My son, Brayden, had surgery. Just a minor one, tubes in his ears, but to any parent even the minor things are major. He did very well, although he did have a nasty reaction to the anesthesia and ended up throwing up several times. What was supposed to be a 30 minute recovery ended up as 4 hours.

True to my quirky self I took the camera along to capture this emotionally trying event. A few pictures of the smiling trooper before surgery, and a few of the sleepy little man afterwards. You know, it's true what they say, "Having children is like having your heart walking around outside your body."

Day One!

I'm joining a great group of women who are blogging a year of pictures. One picture a day for a year. So, here's my first picture!

A self portrait! What better way to start this project? I was going to wait and take a picture of myself when I was all "put together", but then I decided to take a picture of the "real" me. This is what I look like most days. No makeup, hair pulled up...SAHM in the works. The real me! Maybe by the end of the year you'll see one of me all done up! :)
